Rebotini‘s Music Components album will be out in May. As half of Black Strobe, Arnaud Rebotini has been at the forefront of contemporary music for over 10 years. With remixes for Depeche Mode, Fisherspooner, Bloc Party, The Rapture or Royksopp (to name but a few), he has shaped the sound of dance music repeatedly.
His first solo venture, “Music Components“, goes back to the roots of electronic dance music. This is a purist’s album, featuring an analog only approach that will appeal to fans of Carl Craig‘s early work. Continue reading Welcome Arnaud Rebotini! Wax Tailor will be headlining the “I Kiffe NY” showcase on Friday October 24th at the Hiro Ballroom. This will be the first DJ / VJ set by Wax Tailor in the US. Continue reading Wax Tailor performance at CMJ Friday Oct. 24th Well the French are finally back from their long summer hollidays – lucky bastards – and so a few things are moving forward now for me. I was starting to worry ! Here’s one of the first things to look forward to: Teenage Bad Girls, on Citizen Records. They just did the ad for the reedition of the classic Nike Windrunner jacket. Citizen records has an awesome catalog and I am extremely proud to be working with them. Watch this space for more ! 20Syl is the MC / Producer from a French band I love called Hocus Pocus. This is a video documenting how he works. This video is directed by Clem of Tenas. Each panel was hand-drawn. The original song is from the “Hope & Sorrow” album. Wax Tailor aka JC Le Saout made this video himself. He is one of the graffitti artists featured here. The track features The Others and appears on the Wax Tailor “Tales Of The Forgotten Melodies” album. Video for “To Dry Up (feat. Charlotte Savary)” from Wax Tailor, directed by Laurent King and starring Clément Sibony and Clémentine Poidatz. Original song from the album “Hope & Sorrow“. Click on the image to launch the trailer for Wax Tailor‘s second album “Hope & Sorrow” featuring Sharon Jones, Ursula Rucker, A State of Mind and many more. During the recording of the album, we tried to gather video footage of each artist performing on the album, and then JC put it together at home. Video for “Our Dance (feat. Charlotte Savary)“, directed by Laurent King. The original song is from the Wax Tailor album “Tales of The Forgotten Melodies“. Among the people sitting in the restaurant is Laurent Collat, who mixed the album and whom I knew from his band “Elegia“. You can also catch a glimpse of Wax Tailor in the factory. |
